Chef Juan Acevedo is the founder of Plates & Thyme and a classically trained chef with over a decade of experience in fine dining, luxury resorts, private clubs, and high-volume hospitality operations across the United States. Most recently serving as Executive Chef of the Harbour Club in downtown Charleston, he led a culinary team serving over 1,000 private members while designing seasonal menus, chef’s table dinners, and large-scale private events.

Prior to relocating to Charleston, Chef Juan held leadership roles with Wyndham Grand, Jekyll Island Club Resort, Walt Disney World, and Streamsong Resort, where he developed a reputation for combining technical precision with bold, ingredient-driven cuisine. Throughout his career, he has managed multi-million-dollar food and beverage programs, executed high-end banquets and tasting dinners, and led culinary teams in award-winning kitchens recognized by the James Beard Foundation.

Through Plates & Thyme, Chef Juan brings this fine-dining background into a more personal setting, offering private chef services, chef’s table experiences, and full-service catering tailored to each client.
